Step By Step To Create a first Email Marketing

To create An Email Marketing Campaign involved 3 steps:
1) Create a Web Database Contact List that contains information of  people, such as Email, Name, Company name, Address...
2) Create an Email Template Web File that is used to send email out.
3) Launch eCAMPAIGNER.

Now, Let's Do It.

Design the Database Contact List

First, Let's design a simple Contact List named my_email_contactlist. See what kind of data needed for this list. This process is called Data Collection.

Primary Key
It is table Primary Key that is used to make each record row is unique. The simple way to use is name ID ( or any name, like BID, or MID...). Then make it auto increment the row every time there is a new record inserted. So that each record is a unique ID number, like your SIN number, to indentify them.
NAME varchar (50)
Used varchar because it is words, text, string. It is not a number. This field can contain 50 characters of name.
It is a Name of the recipient's email.
** EMAIL Varchar ( 50) It is a the Email of the recipient's email.
COMPANY Varchar ( 50)
TITLE varchar (50) The Title of the email recipient.
ADDRESS Varchar ( 50) It is a the address of the recipient's email.
** OPTIN ENUM ('yes', 'no') This field is used for not sending email. After that person clicks on unsubscribe email. It will go to the table x_member_optin. Then you should set OPTIN = no for that recipient's email. Because this person doesn't want to receive emails.
- All table Contact List must have this field.

Next, It is time to create new table.

1) CREATE NEW TABLE

- Copy and Paste the blue code in the [Code Area] of myNet.Dbase. The click [Submit SQL Code] button. It will create the table my_email_contactlist.

- Code is not case sensitive. EMAIL or Email is same.

- You can also create new table using Create Table Template Tool. But use Code is faster.  It is like English-syntax language.

You can expand this table Add more fields, Delete, Change Name... But do not Delete fields required *** like EMAIL.

MORE DETAIL EXPLANATIONS FOR CONTACT LIST TABLE

• EMAIL eCampaigner will look up this field in order to send email. Must name= EMAIL. REQUIRED.
• NAME of that email recipient. It is optional. If you enter the field = NAME in STEP 2 - 4) When asked Enter One Field of Customer Name so that eCampaigner can read the person name = Dave M when send to his email. It is OPTION. If you don't select, the sent-out email has no name, or no company name. Look like spam.
• OPTIN value yes = send email, no = no send mail if this person opt out.  It is OPTION. If your table don't have this OPTIN field, then eCampaigner will not know who opt out don't want email sent to them.
• You can have eCampaigner launched email in any database table if that table just contains EMAIL field. For example, you can launch eCampaigner for table x_customer, x_invoice ... because they have EMAIL fields.
• You can customize eCampaigner by database programming SQL to search for conditions. And have eCampaigner send emails to this customized contact list. For example, you can run this SQL scrip to select all customers in table x_invoice who have bought more than 5000.0$. Based on this demographic results, you launch eCampaigner send emails to this targeted customers. Such as, Give them Promotion, Coupon...
Here is the code: Select EMAIL, SUB_TOTAL, NAME, COMPANY_NAME from x_invoice where SUB_TOTAL >= 5000
myNet.Dbase then displays the results in table row/column format. You launch eCampaigner to look up in the Emails of this results. This is power of Internet Email Marketing. Because now you can use eCAMPAIGNER to target the specific customers in the database. These are your exist member customers.

2) CREATE SENT OUT  EMAIL TEMPLATE FILE

Next,
you use myNet.Word to create a Email Template File to send out. Or you can load an existing file from File Manager. Let's create an email file = Vocation. ( Vacation! )
The process to create a file is simple: From [ File ] main menu -> Select [New File] -> Use myNet.Word editor to create a file. -> Save As File ( not as web page that requires menu navigation...). This file now is in File Manager. You can open, re edit it again.
Here is an example. LET CREATE A COMPANY LOGO for email so that when opening email, people will see this company Logos at the bottom.

1) Create the Member Login Button. Use Window Paint Brush to create a graphic button. -> Then upload it on your website using FTP/Upload Download Tool or myNet.Explore under main menu [Tool] -> Click Insert Image icon
(the last icon row, in the far right) to insert this graphic button. -> High light the button Log in to your account by click the mouse on. -> Click on the hyper link icon to open the Hyper link small window dialog.
- Enter at box Link: http://www.mycompany.com which is the domain name of your company website. So that when the people open email, click on that button will open another web browser link to your website.
- Select the list box Target = New Window. Which means when click on that button will open a separate web browser to display your website.
- Select the selection box Direction = Left to Right. ( A MUST ) Used for hyper link. DONE! You just create a hyper link for a button.
Use the same steps to insert Hyper Link for words, picture, sentences ...
NOTE: To create the button [ Log in to your account], use Paint Brush windows. Then upload the button on the server.
2) Insert the Logo Tiger image. Click on this Insert Image icon
from the far right of the last row. It pops up a small window dialog. Click on [ Net Browse ] button, it pops up another small window gui. -> Browse to the folder of the website (not local hard drive) where you upload images. -> Select the image you want. Click [Close] to insert picture.
3) Finally, Save As this file in File Manage as a file ,not as web page, named= Logo. Then click [Save]  (See at the top left corner at the box Fname )
• Use the same steps to create the sent-out email file.
 

3) 3 STEPS TO LAUNCH eCAMPAIGNER

Now you have ready the Contact List = my_email_contactlist, and Email Template File = vocation (vacation!), the company Logo that has been created and saved in File Manager. Let's launch the eCampaigner.

First, launch email campaigner from the top menu eCampaigner. All data will be saved in table x_ eCampaigner.

  1. In the STEP 1 OF 3.
    - Step 1) Enter the Name of Your Campaign = My African Vocation Campaigner, or such as: Free Shipping in Nov, or Special Promotion in DEC , not shown in email. To distinguish with other campaign you created. Next time, when you re-launch this campaign, it will look at the Name of Campaign to load.
    - Step 2) Enter the Description of Your Campaign. Describe this email campaign more details. For record. Not shown in email.
    - Step 3) Select the Table Contact List for this campaign from the pull down list, in this case my_email_contactlist you just created.  
    - Next, Click on [OK] button, and click on [Next>] button. The [Next>] button will not enable until you fill all the required information. Error window message pops up if you missed any required field.

If you missed any requirement, a small window pops up asked you to fill. Click [OK] after filling all info. The [Next>] button is disable, can't move to next step until all requirements satisfied.  
    All information for this campaign is saved in table x_ eCampaigner. Later, if you want to re-launch this campaign, you don't have to enter again.
     
  2. In the STEP 2 OF 3. You are required to fill these information:
    1) Enter the Email Subject of Your Company = ** African Vocation Adventures ** - This line will display as the Subject Email that customers will see Even They Don't Open Email. ** IMPORTANT SHOW MEANINGFUL SHORT IMPACT MESSAGE + SHOW YOUR WEBSITE **.  For example, *** FREE SHIPPING + 15% OFF at myFlowers.com ***. The point here, sometime, new customers don't open the email. Or they are afraid to open strange email. That's is normal. But they see your Offer + Website + Company at the Email Subject. They will check your website separately. ** THAT'S WORTH OF MONEY **. It is all you need for your successful Email Marketing. A lot Marketing Emails don't do this. They expect people to open emails. They missed big results.  We hope can help you some thing.
    2) Enter Your Name or Company Name  = African Vacation Adventures, Inc - The name of your company, or the Name of the Person who creates this campaign, such as your name. For record, not shown on email.
    3) Enter From Email of Your Campaign = info@africanadventures.com - The From email that customer will see on their email.
    4) Enter One Field of Customer Name = name - This is the field from the table my_email_contactlist that eCampaigner will read the name and display, such as Dear Customer Maria Smith. Where Dear Customer is the Introduction Line and Maria Smith is the name in contact list under field name = NAME. You can choose any filed like COMPANY to display company name.
    5) Enter The Introduction = Dear Customer - This used in the email content. You can enter, Dear Member, or Hi,...The following is the Name read from field enter in 4). The result of 4 and 5 = Dear Customer Maria Smith. Show on email.
    6) Select the File Campaign from File Manager of Your Campaign = vocation - from the pull down list of all files in File Manager. It is the file you have just created in myNet.Word. It has been saved in File Manager for later use. Click button [View File Campaign] to view the file. See background picture.

  3. In the final STEP 3 OF 3. You are required to fill these information:
    1) Enter the Subscriber Message of Campaign = You are subscribing this message from African Adventures, Inc. This message will display at the bottom of email.
    2) Enter Test Email of the Sender of Campaign = daviddnct@yahoo.com. eCampaigner will send an email copy to the sender's email. So that the sender can see what looks like.
    3) Enter the Launch Date Time = 2008-11-05 22:30. This is the next Date and Time you will launch this email campaign again.
    4) Select the Company Logo from File Manager = logo. This the Logo file you design with myNet.Word. Make sure you test the link of button [Log in to your account] make sure it links to your website by click on [View Logo] button. Then click on the Hyperlink . Show as Logo at the bottom email.
    FINALLY, Click [OK] button first to input all values selected. Click [View Logo] to view Logo file (see background). Click [ Send Email ] to launch eCampaigner right away. After launch, the button [Send Email] auto disabled to make sure you don't send 2 times.  If you want to launch again. Click [OK] button again to enable [Send Email]. DONE!

CONGRATULATION, YOU HAVE JUST LAUNCHED AN INTERNET EMAIL CAMPAIGN !

You can re-modify the eCampaigner, such as change the table Contact List, the Subject, the Email File .... and Re-Launch.
- To Modify: Open table x_campaigner. -> Click on the ID number will open a Data Enter -> Modify  its record.
- To Re-Launch: Open eCAMPAIGNER menu. -> Select sub-menu Re-Launch eCampaigner . -> Select an eCampaigner Name. -> Re-Launch.

EDIT/MODIFY eCAMPAIGNER PROPERTY

Click on the primary key first column ID = 2 to edit the campaign My African Vacation. Change different contact list = my_vacation_contactlist, change the sent-out email file as well.

FIELDS DESCRIPTION
ECAM_NAME Name of this email campaign. Example, My African Vocation Campaigner
ECAM_DBLIST The table contact list. It must include EMAIL field. Other field like NAME used to display name or company name, or OPTIN used to send or not to send email for this person  is OPTIONAL.
ECAM_FILENAME The name of the Email File used to send email. Use myNet.Word to design this file. And saved in File Manager for later use. Example, vocation ( or vacation).
ECAM_SUBSCRIBER_MSG The bottom subscribe message of the email campaign. Example, You are subscribing this message from African Adventures, Inc
ECAM_FROMNAME The name of the person or company who launches this email campaign. Office used only.
ECAM_FROMEMAIL The from email display in email. Example, info@africanadventures.com
ECAM_TESTEMAIL The test email, such as email of the person who launches this email campaign. So that he/she can receive a copy.
ECAM_PERSONNAME This is the Field Name of customer, of member or the field name of company in the table. So that the eCAMPAIGNER can look up and display the name. Select only one name. Thus this field can be FNAME, or LNAME, or COMPANY. If you don't want to display Name of Person who receive email, the leave this field empty.
ECAM_SUBJECT The subject email of this email campaign. Email Subject is important because some times people are afraid to open strange email, or if they delete, they still see your short subject message. Make sure Email Subject line has your website so that people can see even if they don't open your email. They will open your website with separate web browser to see your promotion if that has caused their interest.
- Example Subject Line: *** FREE SHIPPING + 15% OFF at myFlowers.com ***

RE-LAUNCH OR SCHEDULE A DATE FOR AN EMAIL CAMPAIGN

We design easy to re-launch an Email Marketing. You don't have to go many steps like the first creation of a new eCampaigner. 
From main menu [eCampaigner] -> Select sub-menu = [Re-Launch Or Schedule Email Campaign] -> This Interface pops up.



Next, You just select the existing eCampaigner Name. Then click [Send Email Now] -> LAUNCH. This is it.


You will do the following:

1) Select an existing eCampaigner: You select the past eCampaigner you have created like the one My Africa Vacation.  Click on [View Logo], [View Email File] and the list of this email campaign property, such as: Contact List changed from my_email_contactlist to my_vacation_contactlist, Subject... make sure every thing is ok before send. You can always open the table x_campaigner to change its property. Click on button [ OK] first. Then click on button [Send Email Now] to launch this email campaign.

2) Select the Schedule Date to launch this Campaign. If you don't want to send this campaign now. -> Click [Schedule Send Email] button. It will launch this Email Campaign when the current date matched with the schedule launch date.
